Subject: Hidden Files Show Up With NDIR Command
Date: September 27, 1990
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
PROBLEM: A customer was having a strange problem. The DOS DIR
command would not see any files in a directory but NDIR
would. NDIR would show the files as having "SW" attributes.
However, typing "FLAG *.* SRW" would produce a message "No
files matching this parameter were found". Filer could not
change the file attributes either.
SOLUTION: Someone had used the HIDEFILE command by mistake, flagging
all files as hidden. After running SHOWFILE (or FLAG with
latest versions) and revealing the files, everything was
back to normal. Remember that running NDIR will show all
files including hidden files.
